SME Consultant

to support our mission of identifying and integrating thriving SMEs into our portfolio.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SME Consultant with a strong background in government or funded SME support programs. This individual will play a pivotal role in assessing potential business partners, building meaningful relationships, and providing comprehensive business reviews that help guide strategic decisions within the group.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct full-scale reviews of SMEs we are considering for engagement. Assess financial health, operational stability, and growth potential. Build and manage relationships with SME owners and key stakeholders. Understand and analyse the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities within each business. Compile structured reports and recommendations to assist in the decision to bring them into the Kosmas Enterprises group. Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and alignment with our strategic goals. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government and funded SME support schemes. Regular travel across the UK regions: Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and the South East.

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience working with government or publicly funded SME support initiatives (e.g. Growth Hubs, Innovate UK, LEPs, Business Gateway, etc.). Strong understanding of SME operational structures, challenges, and funding models. Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills. Strong report writing, analysis and presentation skills. Able and willing to travel frequently. Self-starter with a strategic mindset and consultative approach. Willing and able to travel to Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham & the South East

Compensation:

This is a freelance role with a daily rate of

150 to 250

, depending on experience and qualifications.
