Job Summary: IFC Certification is looking for a Smoke Control Service and Maintenance Scheme Manager to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing installer certification schemes through auditing, inspections, technical reviews, and client support. Conduct Installation Contractor office quality audits, site inspections, and design document reviews in line with BS EN ISO 17065 and IFCC scheme requirements.
Carry out site inspections and report findings in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020 and specific client requirements.
Support the maintenance of IFCC's UKAS accreditations by assisting with internal quality audits.
Act as line manager to the IFCC Senior Engineer.
Develop audit checklists for both existing and new installer certification schemes.
Collaborate with the Head of Certification to design and implement new schemes.
Review technical reports, specifications, and documentation prepared by colleagues.
Respond to customer queries and support scheme members as required.
Handle new client enquiries and maintain professional communication throughout the process.
Stay informed about industry developments and contribute insights to enhance IFCC services.
Represent IFCC on relevant trade association task groups.
Liaise with clients regarding installer certification requirements, both for office systems and site installations.
Plan and organise day-to-day activities, including technical review, auditing, inspections, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Do you have what it takes?:
Educated to a Degree or HNC level, or equivalent work experience.
Solid experience in the Smoke Control industry, preferably including service and maintenance.
A background working in a technical or quality control role for either a certification/inspection body or an application/installation contractor.
A full, valid UK driving licence, along with a flexible approach, the ability to work independently, adapt to irregular hours when needed, and a willingness to travel.
