Are you passionate about helping others make lasting changes to their health?
We are looking for a Smoking Cessation Practitioner to join Mind in Bexley, supporting people living with mental health challenges to quit smoking and improve their physical wellbeing.

This is a rewarding and hands-on role where you will work directly with individuals who want to stop smoking, offering personalised support that recognises the unique challenges faced by people with mental health conditions. You will also carry out basic physical health checks such as blood pressure, BMI and lifestyle assessments to help service users understand the wider impact of smoking on their wellbeing.

A key part of this role involves embedding smoking cessation support across Mind in Bexley's wider services and partnerships. You will work alongside internal teams (including Talking Therapies, Recovery College, Oxleas Wellbeing and Transformation Hub and Carers' Support) as well as with external partners like local GPs and community health providers, ensuring a joined-up, accessible approach to physical and mental health.

What the role involves:



Delivering one-to-one and group-based stop smoking support using proven, evidence-based methods Providing health checks and lifestyle advice with a compassionate, person-centred approach Promoting the benefits of quitting smoking within our community, particularly among underserved and BAME groups Helping integrate smoking cessation into Mind in Bexley's broader mental health services and outreach programmes Building strong links with local health partners to increase referrals and engagement Supporting service monitoring by recording outcomes and sharing insights with the wider team

Who we're looking for:


You will bring experience from a health, mental health or wellbeing background, along with an understanding of how smoking impacts both physical and mental health.
Knowledge of smoking cessation frameworks (e.g. NCSCT or NICE guidelines) is an advantage, training can be provided.

Pay: 26,000.00 per year
