WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS A SMT TECHNICIAN AT PICKERING



The role of SMT technician requires the smoot day-to-day running of a fast-paced Surface Mount Department working on two production lines and all other peripheral equipment often working to very tight time scales. Producing a large range of mixed technology printed multilayer & double-sided circuit PCBA's used in the test and measurement industry, The Department supports the demands of the Two Production departments as well as NPI (New Product Introduction) R&D (Research and Development) and NTG (New Technologies) departments.

Key Responsibilities:



To program, set & operate all equipment within a SMT environment including
1. Screen printers

2. Pick and Place machines

3. AOI

4. Vapor phase oven

5. X-ray

6. Rework and repair stations

Must be able Solve problems that arise on machinery and processes Rework and repair of Faulty product
Perform quality control final inspection checks to ensure products meet company standards.

Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to 5s & health and safety regulations

Thermal profiling and understand & maintaining oven profiles

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE WHICH MATTER MOST FOR THIS ROLE;



Experience working in SMT departments

IPC610, IPC7711/21 & J-standard 001J preferred qualification.

Hands on experience of the day to day running of pick and place equipment and working in SMT departments.

Must have an excellent knowledge of all practices and processes within the SMT production process

Planned preventive of all machinery within SMT

Solder and rework experience

Innovative and imaginative mind set.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Highly motivated.

Excellent, team and people skills and must be able to lead by example.

Adhering to Lean manufacturing practices and filling out daily metrics
