As an Infinity Team Member within our vibrant Social and Activity Centre, you'll play a meaningful role in supporting the wellbeing, independence, and happiness of people aged over 50 across the Isle of Sheppey.
This is a varied, hands-on role perfect for someone who is empathetic, proactive, and passionate about community engagement. You'll support our clients, facilitate engaging activities, and contribute to the inclusive, supportive atmosphere that makes our Centre such a valued hub.
Key Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, practical support for clients and their families who access our services.
Encourage and assist clients in pursuing hobbies, interests, and wellbeing-focused activities.
Help create a stimulating, inclusive environment with memory games, physical activities, and group sessions.
Assist in the serving of lunches and refreshments and support the kitchen during staff absence or busy periods.
Drive our minibus and other vehicles for escorting and transport duties.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks to ensure reliable, safe transportation.
Set up and actively lead or participate in activities at the Centre, adapting to individual and group needs.
Support the Team Leaders in planning inclusive activities and wider community engagement.
Be instrumental in organising and delivering events, including fundraising and networking.
Answer telephone and door enquiries and take card payments with professionalism and care.
Promote Age UK Sheppey's services to the public and represent us at community and fundraising events.
Provide cover across the organisation when required, including during holidays, staff sickness, or understaffing.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
A full, clean UK driving licence (due to minibus driving duties)
Empathy and enthusiasm for supporting older people
Strong communication and listening skills
Willingness to undertake necessary training (e.g., safeguarding, food hygiene)
A proactive, can-do attitude with flexibility to support wider teams as needed
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience working in a health, social care, or community support setting
Food hygiene training
Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults
