Contract Type:

Fixed Term until 31st March 2026

About this opportunity

We are looking to recruit Social Care Workers to join our Intermediate Care Team in Barrow in Furness, based at Parkview Gardens Residential Care Home.

The service supports residential short term intervention which provides Intermediate Care, Discharge to Assess (D2A) and Respite Beds.

The team identifies the assistance required by the individuals they support, to enable therapy and reablement and to support recovery and independence.

The service will also provide a period of assessment & recovery for people who have been discharged from hospital and will work with the wider health and social care teams so that individuals' long term care needs can be identified and met.

About the role

As a Social Care Worker, you will undertake strengths-based assessments and deliver appropriate person-centred support and outcomes for individuals who have care and support needs.

You will work under supervision and guidance for designated case work. Where cases become more complex, and in negotiation with the line-manager, case responsibility may transfer to a professionally qualified practitioner.

You will be expected to work in ways that promote independence and enable individuals to maximise their strengths.

Due to the nature of this role there will be a need to respond to service users who will not always be accessible via public transport; therefore there is a requirement to travel independently via a motorised vehicle.

Who we are looking for...

The ideal candidate will be proactive, have excellent customer service skills and a flexible approach with the ability to work autonomously whilst supporting team members.

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, and confidence is required to challenge and advocate on behalf of the rights of individuals.
