What you'll be doing




Work closely with construction project teams and our public sector

customers to research, develop and deliver bespoke engagement plans


to satisfy project requirements around social impact including the creation


of project communications plans and associated collateral.

Engage with local communities to understand the specific, local drivers

and how Balfour Beatty projects can deliver meaningful and measurable


community benefits which are proportionate and relevant to the needs of


the local community

Develop a robust understanding of our individual customers and what is

important to them in terms of their impact on surrounding communities


and tailor our approach to satisfy their needs.

Build and maintain a strong network of community organisations,

education contacts and employability providers to support the delivery of


all project requirements

Work with schools, college, and universities to develop STEM and career-
based resources for students and deliver these workshops within schools


and Further Education institutions.

Support national Work Winning Teams as a subject matter expert to

develop tender proposals for upcoming projects and, where necessary,


represent the Social Impact team at project interviews.

Support projects within Scotland to demonstrate our Social Impact during

construction works by creating high quality communications content


including case studies, press releases, web content, video, podcasts, and


social media content. Be a confident public speaker and be able to create


communication tools e.g. posters/ newsletters/ infographics

Accurately report & monitor our Social Impact including evidencing local

labour, local spend and other key metrics and complete monthly updates


to our internal reporting portal and meeting customer reporting needs on a


project-by-project basis. Be confident using Excel and PowerPoint.

Liaise with partner organisations and supply chains partners to facilitate

delivery of social impact deliverables such as work experience


placements, apprentice opportunities and site visits.

Develop local partnerships with key third sector organisations and

promote and coordinate fundraising and volunteering opportunities with


community-based groups.

Support construction site teams in their preparations for Considerate

Constructor Scheme (CCS) audits.



Who we're looking for




A passion for creating meaningful social impact in the communities in which we work
Previous experience in a similar role
Stakeholder Engagement experience
Understanding of the community benefits agenda within Scotland and the

wider social impact landscape

Knowledge of the National Performance Framework and the principles of

sustainable development.

Sound understanding of Community Wealth Building and regional

economies.
