Poppies.co.uk and Itzhome.com are established and growing national brands in the home services and franchise sectors. We are seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Content Creator & Copywriter to join us on an initial maternity cover contract with view to possibly permanent position.

This unique role is an equal split:

50% Social Media Content Creation 50% Franchise Copywriting & Marketing Automation Support
Perfect for someone who can balance creativity with structured communication and enjoys supporting both consumer-facing content and franchise network needs.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for creating, managing, and growing our digital presence across social media, while also producing high-quality written content, newsletters, franchise communications, and supporting automation workflows.

Working closely with the leadership team and franchisees, you will help strengthen brand presence, support franchise engagement, and contribute to national growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, create, and schedule social media content (posts, videos, reels, stories, etc.)

- Write copy for newsletters, franchise updates, email sequences, and marketing campaigns

- Split your time evenly between content creation and franchise-centric communication

- Develop and support marketing automation workflows (Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign)

- Manage content calendars for both brands

- Support franchisees with templates, toolkits, and localised content

- Create branded graphics using Canva or Adobe tools

- Monitor analytics and optimise content performance

- Gather case studies, testimonials, and real brand stories

- Contribute to brochures, digital assets, and recruitment marketing materials

- Provide general marketing support throughout the maternity cover period

Skills & Experience

Essential:

- Proven social media content creation experience

- Strong copywriting skills for newsletters, email campaigns, and business communication

- Confident creating short-form video content (shooting & editing)

- Understanding of brand storytelling

- Strong organisational skills

- Experience with Canva or Adobe tools

- Basic understanding of analytics and reporting

- Ability to manage a split role with clarity and structure

Desirable:

- Experience in franchise marketing or supporting multi-site businesses

- Knowledge of marketing automation tools (Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign)

- Newsletter production experience

- Understanding of SEO, hashtags, and paid ads
