Role overview:



We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to drive our digital presence across our owned social media channels and deliver our community engagement strategy. This role is pivotal in shaping how we connect with our audiences, build brand awareness, and drive meaningful interactions across all our owned platforms.



Key Responsibilities:



Social media strategy & management

Build and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned to drive greater brand awareness and foster closer community relations with key stakeholders. Manage day-to-day activity across platforms (e.g. X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook). Create and curate engaging content tailored to each channel. Monitor trends and platform updates to ensure content remains fresh and relevant.

Thought leadership & profiling

Planning and delivery of executive/senior leadership team profiling and thought leadership, to ensure Tes leaders have a voice in the market and among key stakeholders within education. Uncovering proactive opportunities to engage with influencers within education/Edtech, to help position Tes as a leading voice within the sector and wider education community.

Community engagement

Foster and grow online communities, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner. Develop campaigns that encourage audience participation and feedback. Collaborate with internal teams to amplify initiatives and events.

Content & campaigns

Plan and execute social campaigns to support key initiatives, launches, and events. Work with designers, videographers, and copywriters to produce high-quality multimedia content. Use storytelling to highlight impact, people, and values.

Analytics & reporting

Track performance metrics and produce monthly reports with insights and recommendations. Use data to inform content strategy and optimise engagement. Monitor competitor activity and industry benchmarks.

Collaboration

Work closely with Communications, Marketing, and wider teams to ensure alignment. Provide guidance and training to colleagues on social media best practices.

What will you need to succeed?

Essential

Proven experience building and managing social media accounts for an organisation or brand. Proven experience creating and executing executive thought leadership programmes. Strong copywriting and content creation skills. Excellent understanding of platform algorithms, analytics, and tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Hubspot, etc). Ability to interpret data and translate insights into action. Creative thinker with a proactive and collaborative approach.

Desirable

Experience in paid social media advertising. Familiarity with SEO and digital marketing principles. Experience working with tech companies going through periods of transformation.
