Summary

We're seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Assistant to help share the inspiring stories of Edinburgh's independent businesses.

You'll be at the heart of celebrating our local entrepreneurial community, creating engaging content that helps business owners learn from each other.

Key Responsibilities

Design eye-catching Instagram carousels using Canva to showcase business stories and insights Manage and grow our Instagram presence with consistent, engaging content Transform interviews and case studies into compelling social media posts Schedule and publish content across platforms Engage with our community of local business owners and supporters Track engagement metrics and suggest content improvements

Essential Requirements

Proven Canva proficiency

- portfolio of designs required

Instagram expertise

- demonstrable experience creating carousels and driving engagement Strong copywriting skills for captions and micro-content Understanding of social media best practices and trends Genuine interest in small businesses and entrepreneurship Self-motivated with excellent time management

Highly Desirable

Video editing skills

(Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar)

On-camera confidence

for creating video content visiting local businesses Experience with Instagram Reels and TikTok Photography skills Knowledge of Edinburgh's business landscape
