We operate in 90 different markets and have 17 different teams conducting different areas of research within the UK. The Economy and Environment policy teams are at the heart of Ipsos' Public Affairs offering, covering the most innovative and fast-moving policy areas within the UK and internationally:Trade, Innovation and Enterprise Energy and Environment Transport and Infrastructure
We work closely with Ipsos' cross-cutting teams including our Policy and Evaluation Unit, Probability Sampling Unit, Research Methods Centre, and Qualitative Research and Engagement Centre. We create impact beyond our projects through blogs, thought leadership pieces and stakeholder events.

The Role





As a Social Research Apprentice, you will be working as part of the Economy and Environment policy teams within Public Affairs helping to shape UK public policy. You will be carrying out research on a diverse range of policy areas related to business support, trade and investment, taxation, innovation, transport and mobility, infrastructure, transition to net zero, climate resilience, nature recovery, decarbonisation and the circular economy.



You will be part of a team working on social research and evaluation projects that make a difference in the world. Your role will mainly focus on research and project coordination. This will include:Supporting the day-to-day running of projects. Conducting desk research. Conducting quantitative and qualitative research. Supporting design of interview guides and questionnaires. Doing interviews and focus groups. Running surveys and analysing data. Writing and presenting findings. Contributing to business development and proposal writing.
You'll also have the chance to develop Microsoft Office skills as well as softer skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, adapting to deadlines, and problem solving.

As a Social Research Apprentice at Ipsos 80% of your time will be spent in work, with 20% studying. You will study the Level 6 applied social research standard, leading to a BSc honours degree with The University of Kent at the end of the four years. Alongside work, your part-time university study will equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a professional social researcher by the end of the 4-year programme.

You will have the chance to meet apprentices and graduates across the business and work on projects together, building a global network and fostering teamwork and innovation.

Successful applicants will move on to a cognitive and personality assessment, followed by a virtual interview with one of our talent partners. The final stage will be an in-person assessment at our London office in August and we're looking for candidates to start on the 8th of September.
