Holy Trinity Church of England School is a vibrant and inclusive community located in Crawley, a culturally rich and diverse town. Crawley has fantastic transport links sitting halfway between Croydon and Brighton on the M23 corridor. There is also a fast train service between London Victoria, East Croydon, Haywards Heath and Brighton, in addition to other lines that serve the South. The school operates a minibus service for staff at the start and end of the day serving the three stations in Crawley (Ifield, Crawley and Three Bridges). Job Details



We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Social Sciences Teacher to join our outstanding teaching team. The successful candidate will specialise in at least one of the following subjects: Health and Social Care, Sociology, Psychology, or Criminology, and should be willing to teach at least one additional subject within the Social Sciences. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 4-5, with a strong emphasis on KS5. We are committed to supporting professional development, and candidates will receive guidance and training to help them confidently deliver a second subject if they have not taught it previously. Your passion for the social sciences will play a vital role in fostering a love of learning and encouraging critical thinking in our students.



We also welcome applications from candidates interested in taking on the role of Subject Leader for Social Sciences. For the right individual, this position offers the chance to lead and shape the continued development of this dynamic and valued curriculum area, working collaboratively within our wider Humanities team. The leadership role includes overseeing all Social Science subjects, with direct reporting to the Leader of Learning for Humanities. Responsibilities will include guiding curriculum development, coordinating the administration of coursework, and ensuring the smooth running of all subject-related processes. The Subject Leader will be supported by a dedicated team of Social Science teachers and the Leader of Learning, fostering a collaborative and well-resourced environment.

What You Need to Succeed



Key Responsibilities:


Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to students, adhering to the national curriculum. Inspire students to engage deeply with your subject. Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their personal and academic goals. Foster a classroom environment based on mutual respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning. Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives to promote student development. Contribute to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities or pastoral support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:


Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Strong subject knowledge of at least one Social Science subject, with the ability to teach up to A level. A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to student progress and achievement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding and appreciation of the school's Christian ethos and values.
