About The Role:





We're looking for a Social Value Practitioner to support the delivery of meaningful, community-focused activity across 3 large contracts in the Midlands and Salford. This is a hands?on role ideal for someone passionate about social value, community engagement, and inclusive recruitment who wants to make a practical difference.



You will help coordinate community projects, support inclusive recruitment efforts, organise volunteering days, and keep accurate records of our social value impact. You'll work closely with contract teams, clients, and local organisations, representing OCS in a professional and approachable way.



This role is field-based, with regular travel across the midlands and up Salford, so a driving licence is essential.


Key Responsibilities




Social Value Delivery




Support the delivery of social value activities across allocated contracts. Help develop simple delivery plans with guidance from senior colleagues. Attend contract or client meetings to provide updates or capture actions.

Inclusive Recruitment




Work with hiring managers to identify upcoming vacancies. Build relationships with community partners such as Jobcentre Plus, charities, and supported employment providers. Help coordinate work placements, apprenticeships, and employability activities. Keep accurate records of employment outcomes and local recruitment activity.

Community Engagement & Volunteering




Identify local community needs and opportunities for support. Help plan and deliver initiatives such as food bank collections, school engagement activities, or environmental projects. Organise the logistics for volunteering days, including materials, attendance and risk considerations. Represent OCS at community events and job fairs.

Stakeholder Support




Build positive working relationships with contract teams, community organisations, and local partners. Provide general support to senior social value colleagues in preparing for meetings or events.

Data & Reporting




Maintain accurate records of activities and outcomes. Input data into systems, including TOMs, with training provided. Help prepare simple reports, case studies, and monthly updates for clients and internal teams.

About You




Experience




Experience in social value, community engagement, employability, or a similar people?focused area Experience organising community events or volunteering activities is beneficial. Familiarity with social value frameworks (e.g. TOMs) is helpful but not essential.

Skills & Attributes




Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good organisational skills with the ability to coordinate several activities at once. Comfortable working with a wide range of people in varied environments. Confident gathering and presenting basic data. Proactive, reliable, and willing to learn.

Other Requirements




Right to Work in the UK. DBS check (undertaken upon appointment). Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
