The Role:





We are currently recruiting for a Social Work Apprentice to join Nugent to attain a Degree Apprenticeship in Social Work whilst dedicated to supporting within our adult services.



Whilst undertaking the Social Work Apprentice Degree, you will be working as a Community Support Worker within Childwall Park Avenue, Liverpool. This involves supporting with the provision of supported living for adults with learning disabilities and mental health challenges through personalised care packages across four homes.

Responsibilities:




Work compassionately, considering all aspects of the individual's life - ensuring their voice is central to decision making.Under supervision you will use your professional expertise to work, assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and intervene putting the needs of the individual first.Within the context of relevant Social Work legislation, use your professional judgement and build relationships with a variety of individuals, as well as with a wide range of other professionals and agencies.Under supervision you will work alongside and/or co-work to assess, plan, implement and evaluate a variety of situations. This requires an ability to develop critical reflection skills and make decisions within a clear professional code of ethics.Follow direction from the Advanced Practitioner in allocation of work; contributing to project work through research or carrying out activities in relation to specific tasks which contribute to the outcomes of a project. All of which will reflect the academic modules being studied within the University.Attend University as requested and in accordance with the programme.Use distance learning set days, as designed for the purpose of training, development, and completion of assignments.Complete a minimum of two Spoke Placements and complete shadow opportunities within internal and external agencies.Complete projects/assignments and work tasks in time scales permitted.Use supervisions with workplace supervisors/mentors, Practice Educators and Personal Tutors effectively.All work and conduct will be to the apprenticeship standards and the requirements of the knowledge and skills statements.



The Successful Applicant:




Experience of any social care environment either through personal or professional duties for at least 12 months or level 3 qualifications that amount to 120 UCAS Tariff pointsGCSE Maths and English (A-C) or the equivalent numeracy and literacy qualification e.g. Level 2Ability to develop and maintain trusting, open, and productive relationships with peopleAnalysis and interpretation of relevant regulatory frameworks eg. Assessment frameworksAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with colleaguesEffective communications skillsEffective use of ICT e.g. MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Planning, prioritising and organising own workAdaptable to change and new ways of working
