What you will do:
Conduct statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 20 of the Children Act 1989 for young people aged 16-17.
Determine eligibility for 'child in need' and accommodation provisions under Section 20.
Provide young people with guidance on their rights and entitlements as looked-after children.
Identify and respond to safeguarding risks, creating and reviewing robust child in need or care plans.
Ensure young people's voices are central to care planning and decision-making processes.
Work closely with housing, education, health, and other key services to ensure holistic support.
Maintain detailed case records and ensure statutory compliance.
Promote access to advocacy services, upholding each young person's rights to care and support.
