Social Worker (Safeguarding at Adult Care Assessment and Triage Team)

**Derbyshire County Council are hiring**

As part an exciting new development, an opportunity has arisen for qualified Social Workers to join the Adult Care Assessment and Triage Team. These roles will specifically include a focus on undertaking initial Safeguarding enquiries to support adults who are experiencing/ at risk of experiencing abuse or neglect. You will also undertake wider Care Act assessment and professional intervention.

This team undertakes a unique function in the department and provides support to a varied mix of cases, including exposure to some unusual, or uncommon casework. Casework within this service is completed in short timescales and so may be of interest to applicants who enjoy extensive variety and the satisfaction of quick outcomes.

We are looking to recruit a qualified social worker to join our established team which provides professional triage and assessment of Adult Social Care needs at the front door of Derbyshire Adult Care.

Various hours are available. These are temporary contracts which would run until 31st March 2025.

What we expect from our applicants:

• Someone who can provide a timely response to adult\'s presenting with a wide variety of needs, disabilities, and circumstances
• Be able to provide person centred and strength-based assessments remotely through a variety of online/communication tools.
• Has a good understanding of Making Safeguarding Personal, and the Mental Capacity Act, and confident in using the Care Act 2014
• Someone who is a team player who is able to work closely with other disciplines and teams
• Comfortable working autonomously with a positive and can-do attitude

The work is ordinarily office-based, as we undertake remote enquiries, assessment and triage. The team are based in Shand House, Darley Dale. We are continuing to offer a hybrid approach to working, so you will be able to work both in the office and at home as suits your needs and the needs of the service.
