Here in the Permanency Team we support and monitor the wellbeing of looked after children and young people from birth to the age of 16. We seek to achieve permanency for children and young people whether through long term fostering, adoption, SGO, or a planned return home.
As we strive to build and maintain positive relationships with children and their families, listening to children\'s voices is our priority.
The role involves a range of skills, incorporating: long term support to children in foster care or children\'s homes; direct work with children, including life story work; completing assessments; preparing children for adoption; supporting transitions; involvement in Care Proceedings, including preparing evidence for court. Bedford Borough Children\'s Services have been graded "Good" by Ofsted, and we are seeking skilled and enthusiastic practitioners to be part of Bedford Borough\'s journey. You will be joining a dynamic, creative, and supportive team, aiming to provide excellent care and support to highly vulnerable children.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If your application is successful you will be required to declare any spent and unspent convictions, adult cautions (simple or conditional) that are not "protected" as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).
