Job Introduction
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for Social Workers to join our Preparing for Adulthood and Exploitation Reduction Team.
We are looking to appoint Social Workers who are enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of people with care and support needs, and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Social Workers as well as experienced Social Workers looking for a change in career or wishing to develop their skills and experience. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and abilities across a broad range of social work activity, such as assessment and care planning and safeguarding.
Based at Moat Lane, our Preparing for Adulthood Team work across Children's Services and Adult Services. Working as part of an experienced team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our service, providing a specialist social work service to ensure a smooth transition for young people into adult care and support services within Solihull.
About Us

As a Social Worker in Solihull, you will benefit from manageable caseloads and an inclusive and supportive team culture with great scope for professional development.
We offer comprehensive training with opportunities to study to be a Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator which provides a positive base for supervision skills. In addition, we also offer a 12-month Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for newly qualified social workers.
Social Work England registration fees are also paid for qualified Social Workers.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A professional Social Work qualification and be Social Work England registered or be in the final academic year of a professional Social Work qualification with pending Social Work England registration.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation.
Experience of delivering person-centred and strengths-based working including assessments and reviews.
Detailed knowledge of the care legislation including the continuing health care framework.
Experience of assessment, the development and planning of care and of positive risk management.
Effective communication skills and experience of collaborative working to build effective working relationships.
Above all, a passion for supporting adults with disabilities to live fulfilling lives and maximise their opportunities for independence.
