Job Details
We are excited to offer a permanent Social Worker post within the Dunfermline Justice Team. Our team supports men involved in offending behaviour who are subject to statutory orders imposed by the Court. The team also represent Justice Social Work within Dunfermline Sheriff Court. We are committed to building on trauma-informed practice and developing programs and opportunities for men within their communities and to promote desistence from further offending behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Justice Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
Court and Sentencing Support
Prepare Justice Social Work Reports (JSWRs) and other assessments to inform sentencing decisions.
Provide professional advice to courts on community-based disposals and supervision options.
Supervision of Community Based Disposals
Manage and supervise Community Payback Orders (CPOs), including unpaid work, supervision, and programme requirements.
Deliver structured interventions tailored to individual needs, including domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health support.
Risk Assessment and Management
Undertake comprehensive risk assessments using validated tools.
Contribute to Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and develop risk management plans.
Monitor compliance and respond to breaches of statutory orders.
Multi-Agency Collaboration
Work in partnership with police, health, housing, and third-sector organisations.
Participate in case conferences, reviews, and integrated planning meetings.
Share information appropriately to support public protection and individual outcomes.
Professional Standards and Values
Uphold the principles of trauma-informed, person-centred practice.
Comply with legislation, national standards, and local policies.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development and evaluation.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Experience in justice social work or related field.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968 and MAPPA guidance.
Desirable:
SA07 training in risk assessment and management.
Caledonian programme training for working with domestic abuse perpetrators.
