Social Worker The Child Exploitation Team

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job introduction

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work in The Child Exploitation Team!

You will join a dynamic, successful, and supportive social work team with a skilled and experienced Practice Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with 14 - 17 year olds and their families to reduce the risk and harm associated with exposure to criminal and sexual exploitation.

The successful candidate will be part of a wider multi-disciplinary team which will support assessment and casework functions for children who are in need, subject to Child Protection Plans and who are looked after by virtue of their remand status across East Sussex.

You will work closely with the award-winning SAFER Keyworkers and with the Contextual Safeguarding Co-ordinator and play an active role in the development and delivery of contextual responses. We prioritise and focus on the quality of social work practice rather than processes, and a smaller caseload encourages positive relationships and intensive working.

You will display a willingness to innovatively and flexibly meet the needs of this cohort and we require you to be self-motivated, organised, and able to engage adolescents with complex and challenging presentations. You will deliver a broad range of trauma-informed interventions and high-quality relationship-based practice. You will demonstrate a high level of professional social work practice and a good understanding of the issues relating to adolescents and safeguarding issues.

The role is cross-county, based in Eastbourne / Hastings. The position is permanent and will be considered on a full-time and part-time basis.
