Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working considered)
Salary: PAYE: 29.22 per hour | Umbrella: 38.40 per hour
Are you a skilled and compassionate Social Worker looking to make a real difference in children's lives? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a qualified Level 3 Social Worker to join Neath Port Talbot's Children and Young People Services within the Community Children's Team, based in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. This is a 12-week temporary assignment to support ongoing service delivery during a recruitment period.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct interventions for children and families in need, in need of protection, or who are looked after.
  • Develop outcome-focused, creative plans tailored to each family's circumstances.
  • Work closely with partner agencies and professionals to ensure holistic, multi-agency support.
  • Manage a varied caseload effectively while maintaining accurate and timely case records.
  • Engage with families in the Sandfields, Aberavon, and Baglan areas to help them achieve sustainable positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to a service culture that promotes learning, professional growth, and innovation in practice.
What We're Looking For:
  • A qualified Social Worker (Degree or Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of childcare legislation, safeguarding processes, and evidence-based social work practice.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with children and families under Care & Support or Child Protection plans.
  • A full UK Category B driving licence and business-use insurance, with the ability to travel across the borough.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date CV.
  • Criminal Convictions Declaration.
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Enhanced DBS check (current or within 12 months).
  • Proof of Social Care Wales registration.
  • Proof of qualifications (Social Work Degree desirable).
  • 5 years of references/work history and Health Declaration/Questionnaire.
