Softplay Team Member/Shift Lead

We are currently recruiting for two part-time roles within our ever growing softplay activity centre.

The Playground softplay is open 9am - 5.30pm Tuesday -Saturday. Applicants will be required to cover a range of shifts around these times depending on business needs. Due to the provision of private hire there may be times when the candidate will be required to have flexibility outside of these hours.

The Playground is a fun environment for children aged up to 12 years. There is an imagination village for children up to age 8yrs, a large and adventurous play-frame to explore for all ages and a fully enclosed football stadium.

We pride ourselves on providing a safe, engaging and exciting environment for children and their families. We're looking for enthusiastic, hard working and organised individuals to join our team for both weekday and weekend hours for a range of duties. The candidate should have a flexible approach to the demands of a busy children's indoor play centre and will be required to cover busy periods, holidays and staff sickness when the need arises. These varied team roles will involve working within our kitchen BOH and FOH.

Due to key holder responsibilities the applicant must be over 21 years of age.

What You'll Be Doing Within Your Role:



Welcoming families:

Greet parents and children with a warm, friendly approach and ensure they have a great experience.

Using booking software:

Manage bookings, check-ins, and customer information using our easy-to-learn system.

Daily emails & communications:

Handle customer inquiries and maintain communication through email and telephone and social media messages.

Health and Safety Duties :

Carrying out all health and safety duties in relation to the playground to ensure appropriate records are kept.

Cleaning and sanitising:

Keep the playground area safe and clean by sanitising equipment between/after sessions and ensuring all areas meet our hygiene standards by carrying out all cleaning and safety checks necessary.

General Duties:

Assist with setting up, tidying, and maintaining the play area throughout the day.

Key Holder Duties:

Shift lead roles will require the unlocking and locking of the business in the absence of management.

Birthday Parties:

Coordinating of Birthday parties to include the setting up of party rooms, hosting the running of each party and the cleaning down/re set of party rooms.

Kitchen/Cafe Duties:

Taking customer orders and serving food/drinks. Preparing/cooking food for customers orders and parties. Cleaning and maintaining our coffee hub cafe.

Building connections:

Create a welcoming atmosphere, engaging with parents and children to enhance their visit to the playground.

Ethos:

What We're Looking For:



First Aid Qualification:

Paediatric ( Desirable )

Friendly and approachable:

Confident in interacting with parents and children in a professional manner.

Organised and tech-savvy:

Comfortable using booking systems and managing emails daily. Keeping good and tidy records.

Detail-focused:

Dedicated to keeping the play environment safe, clean and sanitised. Follow all daily checks and procedures to a high standard.

Independent:

Happy working independently during quiet periods.

Positive attitude:

Have a lively, outgoing, friendly and confident personality with a proactive problem-solver attitude . Must be a good team player.

Ethos:

Have a sincere acceptance, understanding and be willing to work with respect for our Christian faith-based ethos.

Leadership Skill:

Be confident in shift leading . Experience in leading a team in a busy fast paced environment desirable.

Level 2 Food Safety Certificate:

Desirable

Catering Skills:

Be comfortable within a kitchen environment, with basic food prep and cooking skills for birthday parties.
Experience:

Full training given in line with company policies however past experience in customer serviced food prep/handling is preferred as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Basic catering: 1 year (preferred) Hospitality: 1 year (preferred) Customer service: 1 year (preferred) Experience in a Child friendly Environment 1 year (preferred)

Pay: 12.21 per hour (age 21 and above) Will increase after completion of a successful probation period.
