Job Summary

Universal Components UK Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our technology team. As we continue to evolve and scale our internal systems, we're looking for a developer with strong experience in PHP 8 and MongoDB, coupled with practical GitHub expertise. You'll play a key role in building and maintaining the tools that drive efficiency across our business.

Duties

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable web-based applications using PHP 8 and MongoDB. Collaborate with IT, product, and operations teams to deliver new features and system enhancements. Use GitHub to manage version control, conduct code reviews, and participate in collaborative workflows. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our system architecture. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Stay informed about modern development practices and suggest relevant improvements.

Experience

Essential

Experience working with PHP 8. Hands-on expertise with MongoDB and NoSQL data modelling. Proficiency in GitHub for version control and collaborative development. Strong understanding of modern development practices and code optimisation techniques.
Desirable

Experience with Laravel or Symfony PHP frameworks. Familiarity with modern front-end development. Exposure to RESTful APIs and third-party service integration. Awareness of DevOps concepts or CI/CD pipelines. Previous experience in building or maintaining warehouse based applications or ERP systems
