Job Description

About Us

Absolute Payment Solutions is a UK-based fintech specialist delivering cloud-based payments and Direct Debit-Credit / BACS solutions. We are one of only 13 BACS-Approved Software Suppliers in the UK, and our portfolio includes a full Direct Debit Management Suite (DDMS), an open API for integrations and even direct embedding of payments within CRM solutions such as Salesforce.

We pride ourselves on our values -- Trust, Respect, Personal Growth & Wellness, Equality and Honesty -- all embedded into how we work.

Our team is lean, technical and focused on building quality, scalable solutions for our clients across industries.

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented Full Stack Developer to join our development team and play a key role in evolving our BACS and payments platforms. You'll be working on our flagship Direct Debit Management Suite (DDMS) and BACS submission engine, and as we move forward you'll also contribute to integration work with Salesforce and Business Central as part of our payments - CRM and ERP convergence roadmap.

Key responsibilities include:

Design, develop and maintain back-end services using .NET Core (C#) for our cloud-based DDMS and BACS submission systems. Work with APIs (internal and external) to integrate payment services, validation (e.g., bank account validation) and other payments-data flows. Collaborate with front-end (web) and integration teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of features. Eventually work on the Salesforce side of the business: understanding how our payment modules integrate with Salesforce, developing new connectors or modules as we expand our "Payments for Salesforce" offering. Ensure code quality, performance, security (payments domain requires high compliance), and scalability of our systems. Participate in agile processes, code reviews, testing and continuous delivery/deployment. Help evolve our architecture and advise on best practices around cloud (we're cloud-based), payments compliance, and integration with CRM ecosystems.
Person Specification

Essential:

Strong experience in .NET Core (C#) development (at least 2-3 years) building services, APIs or backend applications. Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL), experience in designing database schemas. Experience working with APIs (REST and SOAP web services), integration work and service-oriented architecture. Familiarity with cloud deployment (e.g., Azure, AWS) and related practices (e.g., containerisation, CI/CD). Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a small dynamic team. Interest or willingness to move into CRM and ERP/integration work Self-motivated, good communicator and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Desirable:

Experience with payments or fintech systems (Direct Debit, BACS, open banking, etc). Familiarity or at least exposure to CRM/ERP/integration projects. Knowledge of security, compliance and payment-industry considerations (e.g., bank mandate validation, AUDDIS). Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, or message queues. Experience working in agile/scrum teams.
What You'll Get

A front-seat role in shaping a payments system used by multiple industries, working in a growth-oriented, technically-led environment. Opportunity to expand your skill-set into CRM/integration work (Salesforce) and payment industry domains. Flexible working (hybrid remote + Hull office), friendly inclusive culture built on our core values. Competitive salary, ongoing professional development and the chance to work in a niche but growing payments-tech firm. Be part of a company where your contributions will be visible and valued -- we are a smaller team and every developer matters.
