Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Software Development Engineer who is passionate about working at the intersection of healthcare and technology. You will take end-to-end ownership of a mobile app that educates people about their dental health through engaging content and videos. You will work independently while remaining closely engaged with the founder and key stakeholders to propel and align with the product vision.
This role is 100% office-based in the UK.
Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of building a mobile application that educates users via multimedia content and videos.
Independently design, develop, deploy, and maintain the mobile application in Flutter.
Build and manage serverless backend architectures leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3 buckets.
Integrate and optimise workflows using the HubSpot API for CRM automation and data collection.
Write, test, and document robust, efficient code in Node.js (backend) and relevant stacks.
Quickly learn new technologies and frameworks to rapidly prototype and deliver solutions under tight deadlines.
Identify technology gaps and propose effective solutions aligned with the overall product vision.
Contribute to and promote best practices for code quality, CI/CD automation, and systems architecture.
Collaborate with the founder and relevant stakeholders to continually drive, evolve, and align the vision and execution of the product.
Essential Requirements:
Proven ability to work independently and take complete ownership of assigned tasks or projects.
2+ years hands-on experience with:
Flutter (mobile app development)
Node.js (backend/services)
AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3 buckets
API Integration (esp. HubSpot API)
MySQL (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to actively engage with the founder and key stakeholders.
Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Requirements:
Familiarity with healthcare or clinical technology platforms.
Experience with additional AWS services or infrastructure-as-code tools.
Contributions to open-source or developer communities.
Basic understanding of CRMs; HubSpot experience highly desirable.
