Job Summary




Exegy is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and thorough Software Development Engineer in Test to work directly with Product Development engineers in our development team. The team is responsible for the development, testing, and delivery of new product feature enhancements, fixes, and maintenance updates across a range of products.


You are already or will become a product and industry expert in key areas of the trading systems domain. You will work closely with your Manager, Architect, Leads, and other Development Engineers to develop automated Verification and Validation systems, test strategies, plans, and test cases to ensure the high standard of product quality our customers expect. You will advance to mentor other team members in the domain, our products, and QA methods and processes.

Responsibilities



Contribute to the full test lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, test execution, and release processes Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and frameworks to ensure comprehensive coverage Execute functional, non-functional, performance, and security tests, ensuring system reliability and compliance Identify, log, and track defects, collaborating with development teams for resolution and retesting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust test automation frameworks Self-manage tasks and projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality testing outcomes Develop expertise in trading systems and company products to enhance test effectiveness Proactively identify opportunities for QA process improvement and innovation Track, analyze, and report testing metrics to ensure continuous quality improvements Strong client focus, with an emphasis on quality and stability in line with service level agreements

Our Ideal Candidate Has:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) At least 2 years of experience in software engineering and/or quality assurance At least 2 years of experience in software development and test automation At least 2 years of Python and/or shell scripting experience C++ programming experience (2+ years preferred) Experience with other programming or scripting languages is a plus Experience building automation testing using ML & AI is a plus Capital markets and/or financial services knowledge (e.g., trading, market data, protocols) is desired Experience with financial, transactional, or message-based systems (e.g., FIX, FIXFAST, SBE) is desired Experience building a traceability matrix Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) Strong test automation expertise Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools is highly desired Cross-platform experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows is desired Practical knowledge of Agile development methodologies is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities * Flexibility to adapt to business needs, including managing multiple tasks
