As one of a team of Software Development Managers, you will play a pivotal role in leading a section of our development department. Your responsibilities will include driving cultural change, shaping and delivering the software development life cycle, and providing support and mentorship to your team for growth and success.

Our Ideal Person:



Proven experience in managing and leading a team of software developers in an agile environment, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a track record of managing the full product life cycle to meet customer/user needs. Strong understanding of demand management analysis and planning activities, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely project execution. Demonstrated ability to align product management objectives with overall business goals, effectively planning and authorising work to achieve organisational objectives. Excellent project management skills, maintaining a register of business requests and efficiently routing project management requests. Proficiency in evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, identifying potential impacts, threats, and opportunities for the organisation. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, motivating and mentoring team members to achieve measurable results and agreed objectives. A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, fostering individual skill development and personal growth. A strong commitment to upholding and promoting the company's core values, known as 'Our Approach to Business.'

In this role, you will:



Maintain a register of business requests and effectively route project management requests, providing timely status updates. Implement demand management analysis and planning activities for efficient resource allocation and project execution. Manage the full product life cycle, ensuring customer/user needs are met through appropriate product development methods and tools. Align product management objectives with overall business goals, authorising and planning work accordingly. Effectively manage resources within the team to meet current and planned demand. Foster a high-performing culture within the team to achieve measurable results and agreed objectives. Encourage individual development of skills and capabilities in line with team and personal goals. Play an active role in formal organisational processes, such as recruitment, reward, promotion, and disciplinary procedures. Lead the identification and assessment of emerging technologies, evaluating potential impacts, threats, and opportunities for the organisation. Ensure compliance with the company's core values, 'Our Approach to Business.'
