Job Overview:

As a Software Engineer on the Business Applications team, you will be part of a group responsible for enabling core business functionality by ensuring the tooling the various business functions (Content Ops, Marketing, Finance, Legal) use are integrated seamlessly and help build functionality where that tooling falls short.



You will collaborate with other teams across the organization to deliver new features, work on bug fixes, code reviews and participate in key decisions that drive the business forward and ensure we can provide a performant, stable, and reliable self-service platform where our stakeholders can stay focused on the job they do best leveraging the tools we provide.



You will be part of a lean team distributed across the globe, with different lives in different timezones. We believe in promoting work/life balance and that work should revolve around life, not the other way around. As such, we try to keep recurring meetings short and sparse, prioritizing asynchronous communication as much as possible.

What you'll do

You will build new experiences for the web with TypeScript, React and Next.js. You will contribute to designing the patterns of integration and data capture for core business applications ensuring the applications are built in a reliable way and support the continuous growth of the business. You will use your creativity to identify and solve for opportunities for automation to ensure the team can stay focused on solving the fun, complex problems. You will provide technical integration support for business applications for Marketing, Content Ops, Ad Operations, Finance, Brand, Security & Compliance, Analytics & Reporting and more. You will participate in code reviews and discussions that drive the team and the product forward.

What you bring to the table

You have at least 3 years of experience building apps for the web with TypeScript. You are familiar with at least one modern web framework (preferably React). You have experience managing complex state in a web app. You are detail-oriented and focused on delivering seamless, high quality applications, efficient data pipelines, and focused on continuous improvement in all things. You have some experience building internal tooling focused on finance, marketing technology, content operations or ad operations You are kind, humble, helpful and enjoy getting stuff done. You are intrinsically motivated, able to manage your time, and enjoy working with a distributed team across the globe. You believe in asking for help and in helping others when asked, in assuming ownership on issues until they are fully resolved, and in never simply throwing a problem over a wall. You are hungry to have an impact, continuously working to improve our product, process and push the team to be its best.

Remote Work

Plex hires new team members in countries around the world. As such, Plex does not sponsor employment visas. All of our roles are remote, however some roles may carry specific location-based eligibility requirements. Our hiring team can help answer any questions about location after starting the recruiting process. Also, please note, though we largely work asynchronously, as it relates to meetings, those generally occur between UTC 1600 to UTC 1900

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US and Global geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 USD/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000 USD/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, seniority, local currency and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
