Software Engineer (Mid-Senior)

Hybrid (Exminster, Exeter) - 2/3 days per week in-office

About the Role

We're supporting a growing tech business that's building innovative software used by thousands of businesses worldwide, particularly within the creative and performing arts sector.

They're expanding their development team and looking for a Software Engineer with strong full-stack experience to help drive new feature development and improve an established SaaS platform.

You'll work across both frontend and backend systems, collaborating closely with product and design teams to deliver user-focused, high-quality software. It's a great opportunity for a mid-senior developer who enjoys ownership, variety, and contributing to a friendly, growing engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver new features across the stack (Laravel APIs and React frontend). Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver scalable, elegant solutions. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making. Write clean, maintainable code and promote good engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, documentation). Support and mentor junior developers through collaboration and code reviews.

Skills & Experience

Proven full-stack experience (PHP/Laravel + React). Solid understanding of JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and relational databases (MySQL). Some AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, or similar). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Product-focused mindset and passion for great user experiences.

Nice to Have

Experience with React Native. Background in startups or scale-ups. Familiarity with DevOps or serverless architecture (AWS focus).

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
