The simplest way to live with AI. Fits in any space. Installs in minutes.
Limi has created a new category of intelligent living powered by edge AI and a modular hardware ecosystem. With the core platform already established, we are now entering the ecosystem expansion phase.
We're looking for a Software Engineer who
thinks modularly
-- someone who naturally designs firmware that scales across device families, adapts to new modules, and keeps the overall system cohesive as it grows. If you enjoy building clean, reusable architecture and working at the intersection of hardware, design, and intelligent systems, this role will feel energising.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with our Technical Founder and our R&D office to evolve the Limi platform, including:
Developing and extending firmware for new modules, form factors, and future product lines
Designing architecture that is reusable, consistent, and scalable across the ecosystem
Refining communication behaviour across modules (wired low-voltage, BLE, WiFi or internal protocols)
Improving OTA update flows, provisioning logic, and production firmware processes
Supporting our app team with stable APIs, behaviours, and device-app synchronisation
Debugging hardware and firmware during testing, pilots, and mass production
Creating internal tools for diagnostics, testing, and performance tracking
Ensuring seamless integration of each new device into the wider platform without adding complexity
Your work will shape how every new Limi product behaves and interacts within the ecosystem.
Essentials we're looking for
Strong proficiency in
C/C++
for embedded systems
Experience with
ESP32, STM32
, or similar microcontrollers
Solid understanding of
I2C, SPI, UART
and embedded communication patterns
Practical debugging experience with scopes, analysers, or JTAG
Experience delivering firmware for real, shipped hardware
Familiarity with OTA updates, versioning, and firmware release stability
Ability to understand and extend an existing architecture thoughtfully
A structured, systems-level mindset -- especially for modular hardware ecosystems
Curiosity, ownership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Nice to have
Exposure to on-device AI, TinyML, or DSP
BLE/WiFi tuning for pairing and low-latency interactions
Understanding of IoT communication patterns (MQTT, WebSockets, secure onboarding)
Experience with Matter, HomeKit, or similar home automation standards
Python or Node.js scripting for internal test tools
Experience working on modular or multi-device platforms (e.g. Sonos, Hue, Aqara)
A sensitivity to how firmware influences user experience and product feel
Who you'll be working with
You'll report directly to our Technical Founder and collaborate with our in-house electrical engineers and our software R&D office. It's a cross-functional role where firmware choices directly shape product capability, user experience, and how fast the ecosystem expands.
Why join Limi
Limi is building the next evolution of intelligent living. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, contributing to the growth of a platform that blends design, edge AI, and modular hardware into a seamless experience for modern homes and luxury environments worldwide.
You'll have ownership, genuine influence, and the chance to work on products that move from concept to real spaces quickly.
