Job Description

Flux Computing designs and manufactures optical processors to train and run inference on large AI models. Join us to be part of a highly motivated and skilled team that thrives on delivering impact and innovation at speed.

The Role

We are seeking highly experienced and motivated Software Engineers to build software for our next-generation OTPUs. The role demands deep expertise in C++, systems programming, kernel driver development, and instrumentation techniques. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in machine learning, low-level programming, and a passion for high-pace environments. You'll integrate deeply across software, hardware, and optical teams to ensure we're developing at light speed.

Responsibilities

Driver Development:

Deep expertise in kernel and user mode driver development in C++ for both Windows and Linux platforms.

Monitoring and Diagnostics:

Implement performance monitoring, profiling, and tracing tools tailored for our ML workloads and custom hardware that enables root-cause analysis of performance issues.

Hardware-Software Integration:

Deep expertise in writing code that talks directly to hardware, managing interrupts, memory-mapped I/O, and coordinating DMA transfers. Understanding bus arbitration, PCIe transaction layers, and how peripherals negotiate access to system memory via DMA

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship:

Advocate best practices in hardware-software integration and performance engineering. Mentoring junior engineers on code quality and testing, leading design reviews, and best practices across the SDLC.

Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on C/C++ programming. Extensive experience in compilers, low-level programming, and optimisation techniques. Proven expertise in machine learning and its applications in high-performance computing. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Experience in high-pace, dynamic work environments. Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecoms engineering, mathematics, or a related field. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Personal projects are a key differentiating factor and hold more weight than other requirements
