Performance and reliability are critical. You will be expected to do everything from architecture and design, to implementing those designs in code, to testing the implementations for correctness and performance, and finally optimizing the implementations for better performance.

Production Engineers keep Mysten\'s production infrastructure running smoothly even in the face of heavy traffic or attacks from adversaries. They have expertise in release, deployment, logging, and monitoring processes. They are obsessed with automation. They work closely with distributed systems experts to ensure that the software is configured and deployed correctly.

What You\'ll Do:

Work closely with engineers to productionize systems, keeping in mind operational best practices with a heavy focus on automation.

Designing, developing, and deploying new systems that enhance throughput, latency, reliability, availability, and security for the blockchain and the blockchain ecosystem services.

End-to-end ownership of infrastructures (for handling telemetry data, for performing testing, etc).

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

5+ years of experience with hands-on production engineering, including containerization, deployment, orchestration, logging, and monitoring

Experience working with open-source frameworks for these tasks such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform

Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP

Experience building infrastructure and tooling to automate key aspects of the release and monitoring processes

Experience writing/maintaining clear and detailed runbooks

Excitement about applying production engineering best practices in a decentralized setting and tackling the challenges and opportunities that emerge

Fluency in a systems programming language such as Rust (used extensively at Mysten), Go, or C++

Fluency in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Shell Scripting)

Nice to Have:

Experience with blockchain and crypto
