Role Summary
Join us in building the future of financial compliance. As Engineering Manager for the World-Check On Demand application within Risk Intelligence, you'll lead a team developing modern solutions that help financial institutions manage risk and meet regulatory obligations. This is a role focused on delivering innovative, cloud-native software that supports compliance workflows across the globe.
Operating at the intersection of financial crime prevention, regulatory technology, and modern engineering, this high-visibility position requires a technical leader who can deliver secure, scalable systems to support due diligence and screening needs. You'll collaborate closely with our product, compliance, and engineering teams to drive technical excellence and deliver value at scale. If you're passionate about solving problems and leading high-performing teams, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
As the engineering lead for World-Check On Demand, you will manage, guide, and mentor a team of developers to deliver high-quality, compliant, and performant solutions. Working closely with Product Managers, Compliance SMEs, and Architecture teams, you'll help develop and implement the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the development of cloud-native applications and services on AWS, in line with LSEG's broader platform strategy. You'll cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and accountability, embedding LSEG engineering standards into day-to-day development to ensure consistent delivery and operational integrity.
You'll also support the integration of APIs and data services into the wider Risk Intelligence ecosystem, contributing to a robust and scalable foundation for future innovation.
About You
We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in computer science or through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. You'll bring at least six years of hands-on software development expertise, including two or more years in a leadership or mentoring capacity, where you've helped guide and grow engineering talent.
You should have strong proficiency in Python and a track record of building distributed systems. Experience working with cloud services--particularly AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, IAM)--is a strong advantage. You'll be comfortable designing and deploying modern cloud-based software systems in an agile environment, using data to advise decisions and drive outcomes.
A solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development is key. You'll need good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams. Experience in building secure, cyber-compliant applications and a dedication to good engineering practices will be highly valued.
We also welcome candidates with exposure to SaaS or PaaS product development and API-first strategies. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and container orchestration technologies, will help you thrive in this role.
Join us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. If you're ready to take your career to the next level and make a significant impact, we'd love to hear from you.
