Job Title: Software Systems Architect

Location: Barrow-in-Furness - Weapon Systems UK business unit - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: \xc2\xa355,000+ depending on experience

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

\xc2\xb7 As a Software Systems Architect, you will be contributing to the further development of future products whilst helping to maintain the UK\xe2\x80\x99s frontline capability

\xc2\xb7 Your duties will include developing the system architecture for complex, software-intensive systems, designing embedded systems (hardware/software), performing requirements/functional analysis and system modelling

\xc2\xb7 This unique role spans both software and systems engineering disciplines, providing you with a chance to design exciting new products in a fast paced highly skilled team

\xc2\xb7 You will deliver business critical projects whilst maintaining high standards of innovation and creativity

Your skills and experiences:

\xc2\xb7 Degree in a STEM subject or relevant experience

\xc2\xb7 Broad technical background with a focus on embedded/electronic systems

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of microprocessor/microcontroller architectures (ARM, TI) and communications protocols (CAN, BT, USB, I2C, SPI, RS232/RS422, WiFi)

\xc2\xb7 Experience with embedded RTOS or Bare Metal operating systems

\xc2\xb7 Systems Engineering experience, such as modelling, simulation and requirements analysis

The Weapon Systems Engineering team:

As part of the Weapon Systems Engineering team, you will be working on new and / or existing Products (i.e. M777 towed howitzer, 4.5\xe2\x80\x9d MK.8 MOD 1 Naval Gun, AS90 Self Propelled Howitzer & 105 Light Gun), through all stages: from the initial concept; design and development; testing of one or more prototypes; through to final manufacture and implementation of a new product or sub-system.
