About Stratis Inc Ltd



Stratis Inc Ltd designs and delivers innovative technical and asset protection solutions. As part of our continued product development and transition towards renewable power solutions, we are looking for a Solar Product Development Engineer to adapt existing products to operate using solar power and to support the ongoing development and improvement of these systems.

The Role



This role is focused on

engineering development rather than installation

. You will take existing Stratis products and redesign or adapt them to operate reliably using solar power, including energy storage, power management, and long-term performance optimisation. You will be involved from concept through prototyping, testing, refinement, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities



Adapt existing products to be powered by solar energy Design and integrate solar PV, battery storage, and power management systems Develop and test prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions Evaluate system performance, efficiency, and reliability Select and specify components (panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, etc.) Support iterative product improvements and future product development Produce technical documentation, drawings, and test reports Work closely with internal teams to move products from prototype to production

Required Skills & Experience



Background in electrical, electronic, or renewable energy engineering Practical experience with solar PV systems and off-grid / hybrid power solutions Strong understanding of DC power systems, battery technologies, and power regulation Experience with testing, fault-finding, and system optimisation Ability to work hands-on with prototypes and development builds Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desirable (but Not Essential)



Experience adapting products for outdoor or remote deployment Knowledge of Li-ion, LiFePO?, or other battery chemistries Experience with low-power electronics, IoT, or embedded systems CAD or schematic design experience Familiarity with relevant UK / IEC electrical standards
