R&M Williams is seeking an experienced and motivated Solar PV Manager
to lead the delivery of our expanding portfolio of residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across Wales and surrounding areas.
This is a key leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant, and high-quality management of solar PV installations from design through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will possess both technical and managerial expertise, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with UK regulations, industry standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of solar PV projects (domestic and commercial)
Grow the delivery team - experience working with local subcontractors and labour.
Oversee system design, planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning
Ensure compliance with MCS, NICEIC, and relevant building and electrical regulations
Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to deliver on time and to budget
Act as the technical and operational point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Maintain accurate documentation for installations, including MCS certification and risk assessments
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all works are delivered in line with SHEQ protocols
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Background in electrical engineering or renewable energy (e.g. Level 3 NVQ, BEng, or equivalent)
Qualified Electrician with current
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
City & Guilds (or equivalent) certification in
Solar PV Installation and Maintenance
Proven track record of managing PV projects in both domestic and commercial sectors
Working knowledge of MCS standards and NICEIC requirements
Strong project management and leadership skills (PRINCE2 or APM beneficial)
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites
Desirable Accreditations & Skills:
SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH certification in site safety management
Experience with quality control systems and commissioning protocols
Excellent client communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and schedules
Familiarity with emerging technologies (battery storage, EV charging, etc.)
