Role Overview
The Commercial Solar PV Installer is responsible for the safe and efficient installation of commercial solar PV systems and associated electrical infrastructure across Nuvolt project sites.
This role involves installing DC and AC solar PV components in line with approved designs, industry standards and manufacturer requirements. You will work on rooftop and ground-mounted systems, as well as within electrical plant areas, maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and site professionalism.
The position requires strong electrical and mechanical installation skills, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and method statements, and clear communication with project managers, commissioning engineers and clients. Regular travel is required, including staying away from home two to three nights per week depending on project location.

Ensure all installations comply with design intent, regulations and manufacturer guidance
Support smooth project delivery through teamwork and clear communication
Contribute to positive client experiences and successful project handover
Key Responsibilities
Install commercial solar PV systems, including modules, mounting systems, DC cabling, inverters and associated electrical equipment
Complete DC string installation, termination and basic testing prior to commissioning
Install AC cabling, containment, isolators and distribution equipment in line with drawings and specifications
Read and interpret electrical schematics, layout drawings and method statements
Ensure all work complies with BS 7671, MCS standards, manufacturer requirements and site-specific procedures
Work safely at height in accordance with RAMS, CDM Regulations and Nuvolt safety policies
Identify installation issues or design discrepancies and report them to the project manager or design team
Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment on site
Support commissioning engineers during testing, fault-finding and system energisation when required
Assist with installation photographs and documentation for quality assurance and handover packs
Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and other contractors
Attend site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
Travel between sites and stay away from home as required to support project delivery
