Open Law, a friendly and approachable firm based in Slaithwaite and Honley, is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to start their legal journey with us!

What You'll Do



Gain practical, hands-on experience across a variety of legal practice areas. Attend client meetings and assist with case preparation. Conduct legal research and draft documents. Work closely with our experienced solicitors, gaining invaluable mentorship. Develop vital skills that will serve as the foundation of your legal career.

Requirements:



5 GCSEs, including Mathematics and English (grade C/4 or above) 3 A Levels Strong communication and organizational skills A keen interest in pursuing a career in law

What is the Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme?



The solicitor apprenticeship scheme offers an alternative route to qualifying as a solicitor without the need to attend university full-time. Here are the key details:

Solicitor Apprenticeship (when you haven't yet started your degree)



This typically takes 5-6 years to complete and can be started after A Levels. It includes both on-the-job training and academic study, with at least 20% of the time dedicated to study.

Qualifications:



Apprentices will achieve a Level 7 qualification, equivalent to a master's degree. All apprentices must pass the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 and 2 to qualify as solicitors.
