Job Title: Banking & Finance Solicitor

Reporting To: Head of Finance / Partner-level lead
About the Role
A well-established and highly respected Northern Ireland law firm is seeking a dedicated Banking & Finance Solicitor to join its market-leading Finance practice, which is renowned for advising on significant and complex banking and financial services matters across Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland. The successful candidate will work on transactions such as acquisition and leveraged finance, real estate and development finance, loan-portfolio sales, fund-lending and regulatory compliance, alongside other cross-border finance matters.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop within a forward-thinking team, working on large-scale and sophisticated finance transactions, while delivering commercially-focused legal advice to high-profile clients.
Key Responsibilities

• Act on complex finance transactions, including acquisition and leveraged finance, development and real-estate finance, portfolio lending and fund financing.
• Support the structuring, drafting and negotiation of lending, security, and inter-creditor documentation, working with clients and external stakeholders.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters relevant to financial services, banks and fund structures across Northern Ireland and the UK.
• Collaborate with other practice-areas (e.g., corporate/M&A, real estate, restructuring) to provide integrated advice on transactions with finance components.
• Build relationships with clients (banks, funders, corporates, sponsors) and contribute to the practice's growth through business development activities.

Candidate Requirements
Essential:

• Qualified solicitor in Northern Ireland (or eligible/admitted shortly) with experience in banking law.
• Proven track record of working on meaningful finance transactions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical and commercial advisory skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team; excellent client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.

Desirable:

• Experience of work across both Northern Ireland and wider UK / Irish jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with fund-lending, inter-creditor arrangements, or large-scale structured finance.
• Track record of developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
