We are looking for a Solicitor / Caseworker to join us in our Leicester office who has expertise in Immigration law.
Responsibilities:
Legal Advice:
Provide expert legal advice to clients on immigration matters, including visa applications, residency, citizenship, and asylum claims.
Application Preparation:
Assist clients in preparing and submitting immigration applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
Compliance Guidance:
Advise businesses on compliance with immigration laws, particularly if they are sponsoring foreign workers, including the obligations of licensed sponsors.
Representation:
Represent clients in appeals or hearings related to immigration decisions, including tribunal proceedings.
Keeping Updated:
Stay informed about changes in immigration law and policy, including new regulations and guidance from the Home Office.
Client Communication:
Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, updating them on the progress of their cases and any changes in legislation that may affect them.
Document Management:
Help clients gather and manage documentation required for their immigration cases, ensuring that everything is organized and meets legal standards.
Risk Assessment:
Evaluate potential risks and challenges associated with a client's immigration status or application, providing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Training and Workshops:
Conduct training sessions or workshops for businesses on immigration compliance and best practices.
Confidentiality and Ethics:
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards while representing clients.
About yourself:
You will be an experienced (3 years minimum) solicitor / caseworker on Immigration Law.
You should be able to speak one of the following: Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Pashto.
You will have experience in dealing with Immigration Law cases such as:
1. All kinds of Entry Clearance Applications, 2. Further Leave to Remain Applications, 3. Settlement, 4. Nationality, 5. Judicial Reviews, 6. Appeals in First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal, 7. Immigration Bails, 8. Asylum Claims, 9. Immigration Detention and Removal etc.
If you have experience in additional area(s) of Law, it would be beneficial.
