We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Solicitor (NQ-2 years PQE) to join our growing and highly regarded Property Litigation team in Exeter.
Our Property Litigation team is known for its practical, commercial approach and the strength of its relationships with clients. Described by the Legal 500 in 2025 as "one of the very best property litigation practices in the South West," our team act for a diverse range of individuals, businesses, institutional landlords, investors, and developers on a broad spectrum of contentious property issues.
In this role, you'll work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a variety of property-related disputes, including co-ownership and neighbour issues (such as rights of way, adverse possession, harassment, and boundary disputes), lease and tenancy disputes, commercial rent recovery, enforcement of charges, possession, disrepair, anti-social behaviour injunctions, tenancy management issues, professional negligence, and claims involving rectifying historic title issues.
You'll be encouraged to take genuine responsibility for your own caseload early on, supported by experienced colleagues who are committed to helping you progress. As such, you'll enjoy a high level of client contact, a collaborative team culture, and the chance to work on matters that will allow you to develop your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Who You Are
Having gained a solid foundation of experience in residential and commercial contentious property matters, either during your training or early post-qualification experience ideally at a leading regional or national firm, you will be keen to continue developing your knowledge and grow your career with Ashfords.
Known for being a confident communicator, you'll earn the trust of clients through your professionalism, empathy, and practical approach, whilst having the ability to build lasting relationships and demonstrate a genuine commitment to client care.
Resilient and calm under pressure, you'll thrive when faced with complex and challenging cases, applying sound commercial judgment to achieve the best outcomes for clients. With a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to your work, you'll be ready to take on meaningful responsibility from the outset and develop your career within a supportive, ambitious firm.
As someone who leads by example and is known for being a strong team player, you will have the confidence to assist in the supervision of junior colleagues and work to tight deadlines.
