Salary:

Competitive, commensurate with experience, 25 Days Holidays plus Bank Holidays, Company Pension.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Commercial Solicitor to join our in-house legal team, playing a pivotal role in supporting Tomato Energy's strategic objectives and regulatory compliance within the dynamic UK energy sector. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking organisation, providing high-calibre legal expertise across a broad spectrum of commercial and commercial property matters.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnerships, and service-level agreements. Providing expert legal advice on commercial property transactions, including leases, acquisitions, disposals, and agreements related to energy infrastructure projects. Ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, including Ofgem's Standard Licence Conditions and other energy sector regulations. Advising on corporate governance, risk management, and transactional matters to support business operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal solutions. Managing ad-hoc legal matters as directed, ensuring precision and timeliness in all deliverables.

Candidate Requirements

Fully qualified UK practising Solicitor with NQ to 3 years PQE, gained in a reputable law firm or in-house legal team. In-depth knowledge of commercial law, with demonstrable expertise in commercial property transactions. Familiarity with or a keen interest in energy sector regulations, particularly Ofgem requirements. Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a meticulous attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive, adaptable, and able to excel in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
