About us



Gowlings Solicitors Ltd are looking for solicitors, legal executives and experienced paralegals to join our growing property and private client departments at our office in Fulwood, Preston.

The candidate will be a qualified solicitor, legal executive or experienced paralegal. Their caseload will be varied and it is essential that they are confident working independently and efficiently. They are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative, whilst communicating effectively with partners, colleagues, and clients.

Person Specification & Requirements

The candidate will be responsible for earning fees by actively working towards individual and departmental targets and objectives as set by Head of Department.

Residential Property



They will deal with a mixed caseload of conveyancing transactions including but not limited to:

Sales Purchases Remortgages
In order to assist them:

All initial client care and file opening processes will be completed by our new business team before the file is passed over to the fee earner; and All post completion registration formalities will be dealt with by our post completion team There is a target based bonus available to appropriate candidates.

Commercial Property



They will deal with all aspects of commercial property law including but not limited to:

- Sales
- Purchases
- Refinancing
- Leases

They will:

Arrange and attend meetings with clients where necessary, ensuring a professional service and excellent client care standards. Negotiate with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives. Attend client visits at their premises when required. Draft legal documents. Monitoring, actioning, and updating various electronic portals. Research and analyse documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure. Build key relationships with the firm's client base and wider external industry. Keep up to date with changes and developments in the law by reading journals and law reports. Adhering to process and procedures as directed by the Head of Department. Undertake specific training when required and have overall responsibility towards self-development. Be actively involved in ensuring compliance with policies and standards. Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and client's documentation and information by complying with GDPR. Be actively involved in business development activities and networking. Undertake any other duties as required by the Directors as necessary for other fee earners and employees.

Private Client



They will be responsible for the effective management and advisory service of all aspects of allocated private client cases, including but not limited to:

- Wills
- Probate
- Estate Administration
- Inheritance Tax Planning
- Powers of Attorney
- Court of Protection
- Trusts
- Elderly Client Issues
- Inheritance Tax Estates
- Capital Gains and Estate Planning

Work days and times: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (lunch between 12:30pm and 1:30pm
