About the role



Working as a member of our Growth Practice, the Solution Design Architect's primary role is to provide consultative and design expertise across the CX and/or UCC portfolio. Providing vision and support to the Bid Management and Sales teams, undertaking presales design activities including but not limited to, requirements gathering/analysis, High Level Design outline, cost base creation including professional services, high-level schematic production, documentation writing (HLD or Bid response) assisting in the initial qualification of proposals and bids. Being part of a virtual bid/sales team managing and owning the design and articulation of innovative technology solutions that meet the demands of the customer. Retaining ownership of the design throughout the life cycle of the project, the Solution Design Architect supports the project management and implementation teams by providing clarification where required during the delivery of the solution through to customer acceptance. Working closely with the implementation and support teams to articulate the service wrap matching specific customer requirements and identifying the professional services effort required to deliver the proposed solution. Assisting the sales team in generating revenue and increasing the margin. Engaging as a Consultant with existing and prospective customers to ascertain customer requirements, aspirations and required outcomes whilst understanding existing infrastructure along with any known constraints or challenges from a technology perspective. A confident communicator, the Solution Design Architect will present technology at Management level and to large customer audiences, supported by high quality presentation materials and documentation.

Role Objectives



The Solution Architect's primary role is to provide consultative and design expertise across the CX and/or UCC portfolio encompassing:

Consultative engagement with existing and prospective customers to ascertain customer requirements, aspirations and required outcomes whilst understanding existing solutions along with any known constraints or challenges from a technology perspective.

Provide support to the Bid Management and Sales teams, providing vision and concept assisting in the initial qualification of bids.

Work as part of a virtual bid team or sales team managing and owning the design and articulation of innovative technology solutions that meet the business demands of the customer

To carry out presales design activities including but not limited to, requirements gathering/analysis, High Level Design outline, cost base creation including professional services, high-level schematic production, documentation writing (HLD or Bid response) and to assist the Sales teams with the production of proposals and bid responses

To work closely with the implementation and support teams to articulate the service wrap matching specific customer requirements and identifying the professional services effort required to deliver the proposed solution

To assist the sales team in generating revenue as well as meeting and increasing the minimum margin levels set by the business.

The Solution Architect must be an accomplished presenter who is comfortable presenting technology at all levels and to large customer audiences. The quality of all presentation material and documentation produced must be of an extremely high standard. It is important that the Solution Architect retains ownership of the design throughout the life cycle of the project and supports the project management and implementation teams by providing clarification where required during the delivery of the solution through to customer acceptance.

The Solution Architect is responsible for the creation of design documentation (High-level design) for medium to complex projects. It is important that the documentation is accurate and highly presentable, ensuring that the proposed solution meets or exceeds customer expectations.

What will you do?



To engage with key customer accounts to understand their business challenges, identify cross-sell/up sell opportunities and establish a trusted advisor relationship. Customer business outcomes and requirements gathering, discovery and analysis. Qualification and validation of suitable opportunities in support of sales/business strategy. To engage with Maintel's key customer accounts to understand their business challenges, identify cross-sell/up sell opportunities and establish a trusted advisor relationship. Interpretation of tender documentation (ITT, RFP, etc.) Bid validation, response writing and reviewing. Proposal presentation writing and delivery. Solution design ownership. Solution cost base ownership. Concept level, solutions design. Produce proposal / technical documentation, schematics, etc. which articulate Maintel's solutions. To ensure that appropriate levels of concise documentation and cost models are created and maintained for proposed solution. Ensure Proposals & High-Level Design documents are fit for purpose as the basis for a Low-Level Design creation during delivery.

What are we looking for?



A low-level understanding with significant experience of Contact Centre and/or Unified Communications solutions is required. This includes product use cases & benefits, Software as a Service (SaaS) practices, public & private cloud connectivity and network security. A thorough grasp of the domestic CX and/or UC&C market is required. Multi-vendor product knowledge is desirable in order to offer a true "Trusted Advisor" consultancy service. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of our CX and/or UCC product portfolio is required. An understanding of the challenges involved in working in the service industry, with particular emphasis on service led propositions, managed services and consultative selling and vendor agnostic product knowledge to offer a true "Trusted Advisor" consultancy service. Capability to balance a demanding workload in a dynamic working environment. An understanding of how to calculate and present Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment business cases would be desirable. Ability to form close working relationships with internal and external customer communities, partners/suppliers, and manufacturers. A proven track record working with an enterprise level Presales function. Ability to perform peer reviews, audits, standards compliance checks and due diligence as required. Proven understanding of best practices in design methodology (i.e. TOGAF), business processes and frameworks (i.e. PRINCE2, ITIL) used to deliver complex solutions. Ability to occasionally travel to customer sites nationwide.

Experience & Qualifications



Essential

Demonstrable experience of Mitel Unify OpenScape Voice, OpenScape 4000 and OpenScape Business solutions encompassing on- premise platforms, architecture, network services, licensing, managed services and vendors/distributors. Design experience with Unify Office and cloud migration considerations for existing Unify customers. A proven track record working with an enterprise level Presales function. Cloud Transition/Migration methodology Managed service offering creation (creating bespoke customer focused solutions) Input to the wider team on propositions & product adoption/creation

Desirable

CX and/or UCC vendor certification Public Cloud certification Legacy Unify solutions such as ISDX TCP/IP, OSPF, MPLS, Switching, Routing Networking fundamentals: LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewall, etc. IP Telephony Protocols (SIP, H323 etc.)
