Job Purpose

We are looking for a Junior to Mid level Solution Architect to join us within the \xe2\x80\x9cStrategy & Architecture\xe2\x80\x9d pillar of the National Grid ESO organisation, to work on the Platform for Energy Forecasting (PEF) Azure based system. This position would suit someone that has recently completed a Mathematical /Computer Science degree in the last couple of years and is looking for a development opportunity or has been a Junior Solution Architect previously

Key Accountabilities

• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, other solution architects, and assist dev team to execute on deliverables.
• Work closely with Solution Teams, end-users, operations, and security to ensure requirements are captured in the architecture designs.
• Map Solution requirements to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services by converting technical requirements of a project into architecture and design on path to finished products.
• Participate in providing technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives.
• Provide innovative methodologies to identify and solve development, migration, performance, scalability, reliability, and availability issues.
• Provide architectural support and leadership to the Solution team for developing the Solution on the Azure Platform.
• Help build cloud governance, monitoring and operating models for in-production workloads.
• Whiteboard architecture reviews, write technical collateral and help build reusable artefacts for the organisation.
• Work closely with Team members and other Solution Architects to define, document and resolve technical dependencies and blockers to achieve business value.

Experience / Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience in one or more of the following: coding/development using Python or R, Azure Compute/Storage/Data Services, DevOps tools (Azure DevOps or Jira).
• Mathematical programming/Mathematical Modelling knowledge.
• Experience with Enterprise data handling, Data integration and Big Data analytics, using Azure stack.

Preferred Skills:

• Azure cloud solution designing & architecture
• Azure ML.
• Data Science experience.
• One or more relevant cloud certifications
• TOGAF/Open-Agile Architecture and/or Azure platform architecture

More Information

A competitive salary between \xc2\xa350,000 - \xc2\xa360,000 - dependent on capability.
