The operation is fully integrated from R&D, international product approval, manufacturing production and assembly, sales and marketing, to full lifecycle support (via our Test and Maintenance Services division). In recent years the business has been undergoing an accelerating series of transformative changes including investment in new management structures and processes, new facilities and plant, a new ERP system and a torrent of new products: the business is now capitalising on this on-going investment programme and is achieving substantial rates of growth.

The Position / Role



Overview:



The job will be predominantly, but not exclusively, be based on problem solving throughout our product range assembly and test processes. Using assembly issues and problems to drive improvements in the assembly process and throughout the business, improve efficiencies and drive down costs. The candidate will need to have strong proven experience in problem solution environments, of using Lean, 8D and 5S practices. The successful candidate will preferably need to be qualified in an Engineering discipline related to Mechanical principles and preferably to at least HNC/HND or degree level. Ideally, they will need at least 3-5 years' experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment that produces engineered type products, preferably within an assembly and/or CNC machining environment as well as having experience in using Continual Improvement tools.

Responsibilities:



Utilise Fault finding skills to develop and improve assembly processes and techniques including root cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions from concept to completion, training out issues and executing improvements. Plan, manage and oversee system requirements. e.g. new product introduction, modifications to existing product, supporting production with ad hoc engineering needs for improvement tools. Generating and maintaining BOM's, BOO's, and SOP's within the ERP system Optimise efficiency of machinery, processes, and people
o Assess and analyse current production methods and ensure all production steps are clear, unambiguous, and optimised.

o Develop improved production processes and infrastructure.

o Identify Optimal equipment and machinery as well as alternative manufacturing methods as appropriate.

o Improve speed, efficiency, and cost of production across all areas.

o Establish checks, balances, and corrective practices for all steps of production.

Follow product specifications and quality control measures. Develop and implement quality control measures. Work within set budgetary plans for projects. Communicate with Quality, Development, Sales and Planning and Progress to help clients and venders to obtain materials and/or equipment needed.

General functions



Support engineering with problem resolution, process and system improvements Support design, re-design and development of process equipment Work with various cross functional teams to continuously improve and maintain operational processes Work closely with engineering and production to ensure that equipment reliability and repeatability is maintained at the optimum level To work with component and machine suppliers to eradicate process problems identified by production and maintenance Provide training and support to operators and team leaders in the operation of new equipment or processes Organise, implement, maintain and improve production process flows Drive a continuous improvement culture and Lean manufacturing techniques/ principles throughout the business. Investigate customer quality concerns relating to process and product, using RCA and implementation of 8D methodology to reduce / eliminate repeat concern. Identify ways to reduce production costs, project plan changes and implement challenging deadlines. Drive change on 7 wastes culture. Ability to create FMEA's. Process Flow diagrams, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, ERP solutions Lead meetings as necessary for delivery to the organisation and deliver personal objectives

Skills and Attributes



Qualifications/Requirements:



3+ years of experience in production/industrial engineering. Experienced in problem solving, process engineering, ERP solutions and data analysis for improvement. Knowledge of Lean, Gemba, Keizan, Six Sigma, 5s. Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Sharepoint Experience will be a benefit etc) Ability to effectively train, lead and direct employees, Managerial experience a plus Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.

Pay: 36,000.00-40,000.00 per year
