Sonographer - VisitHealth Clinic - London



We have an exciting opportunity for a Sonographer to join the VisitHealth team. This role will be based in our West London clinic, and we are offering a competitive salary and benefits.

The Sonographer will play a key role in the progressive development of the Imaging department by supporting the Imaging team.

Key Responsibilities:



The responsibilities of the Sonographer include, but are not limited to:

General abdominal, Gynaecological, pelvic, small parts, Lumps and bumps, vascular and MSK ultrasound scanning To autonomously produce written report of the above examinations. Explaining sonographic procedure to patients, answering questions, preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning patient on the table Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to ultrasound equipment when necessary. Maintaining and cleaning ultrasound equipment Carrying out training on ultrasound equipment for other healthcare professionals Addressing patients' concerns before, during and after ultrasound examinations Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced. Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities, when necessary Completing the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients' histories and medical records To liaise with referring clinicians, nursing and all other staff to ensure the provision of a high-quality efficient service.

Qualifications



Diploma of The College of Radiographers/BSc in Diagnostic Radiography /PGDip in Medical Ultrasound/ PGC Medical Ultrasound CASE accredited or equivalent Registered with the HCPC or an equivalent recognised regulatory body Strong technical, communication, interpersonal and patient service skills Counselling skills and the ability to listen actively to patients in a non-judgmental manner. The ability to deal with criticism and work well under severe pressure. Strong attention to detail Patience and a calm demeanour in stressful situations Familiarity with computers and commonly used software packages Excellent manner and time management skills Willingness to continue learning throughout the career.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting from 52,000 per year pro rata

Schedule:

12 hour shifts Weekdays availability Weekend availability Total 24- 36 hours flexible scheduling
