Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and food preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety standards. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests. The venue tends to have early diners thus limiting daily late finishes.
Duties:
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring creativity and innovation in dishes.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Assist in managing kitchen budgets and controlling food costs while maintaining quality.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
