Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety while supporting Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation. Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to culinary standards. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to guarantee consistency and quality. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Train junior kitchen staff, fostering their culinary skills and knowledge. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery. Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A passion for cooking and creativity in menu design is highly desirable. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
