We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team within a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and execution of dishes.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that enhance the dining experience.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
Help manage kitchen operations during peak service times to ensure timely delivery of meals.
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
